Thistle testing glass

The thistle was the inspiration for the design of this service, created for the Nancy exhibition in 1909, in the midst of the Art Nouveau period. Chardon, in reference to the emblem of Nancy, was presented accompanied by the city's motto: "Whoever rubs against it gets pricked." Subsequently, as part of the Entente Cordiale, Chardon was anglicized to become Thistle and shine on the finest tables. Thistle has been in existence for 110 years and has been adorned with gold and platinum since the 1970s.
